Lab-Grown Diamonds in Dubai
Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds. They have the same chemistry, hardness and sparkle as a mined diamond. The difference is where they were formed: in a laboratory over a few weeks instead of deep underground over millions of years. At BYORO we set lab-grown diamonds in 18K gold in our Dubai atelier, and we show them side by side with natural diamonds so you can see the difference yourself.
Lab-grown vs natural diamonds
- Same material: both are pure carbon with the same crystal structure. Without lab equipment, even an experienced jeweller cannot tell them apart.
- Same grading: lab-grown diamonds are graded on the same 4Cs (cut, colour, clarity, carat) by independent laboratories such as IGI.
- Different price: a lab-grown diamond typically costs a fraction of a natural diamond of the same size and quality, so you can choose a larger or higher-grade stone for the same budget.
- Different story: a natural diamond is rare and formed by nature over billions of years. Some people value that; others prefer the size and value of lab-grown. We will explain both honestly.
How to choose a lab-grown diamond
Cut matters most for sparkle. Colour: most lab-grown diamonds come in the colourless D, E and F grades, and G–H or lower are rare. A D costs significantly more than an E or F, although the difference is very hard to see in a ring. Clarity also affects the price. Our standard at BYORO, and what we recommend as the best balance, is E colour, VVS2 clarity. Carat is size: with lab-grown diamonds, many couples choose 2–4 ct centre stones, and more and more go for 7 carats and above.

Are lab-grown diamonds real diamonds?
Yes. They are physically, chemically and optically diamonds. They are not simulants like cubic zirconia or moissanite.
Will a lab-grown diamond last?
Yes. It has the same hardness as a natural diamond (10 on the Mohs scale) and will not fade, cloud or change colour.
Are your lab-grown diamonds certified?
Yes. Centre stones come with an independent grading report from laboratories such as IGI.
What colour and clarity do you recommend?
E colour, VVS2 clarity. It is our standard: bright white and very clean, without the extra cost of a D or flawless stone.
